The German Lignite Industry in 2021

Germany’s domestic lignite output increased by 18.9 Mt, which equals 17.6 %, from 107.4 Mt to 126.3 Mt between 2020 and 2021. The lignite extracted in 2021 had a net calorific value of 39.3 Mtce.
