Mining rehabilitation aims at the necessary and lasting reduction of risks and impacts on people and the environment. In the planning phase up to the completion of the rehabilitation work\, it is important to consider future challenges with regard to sustainability and subsequent use. Innovative after-uses of former mining sites\, the implementation of efficient energy concepts and the responsible use of resources increase social acceptance. \nThe experience and expertise gained from more than 30 years of rehabilitation mining will also be needed in the future. They are the basis for sustainable mining.
