Diese sind insbesondere für den Bereich der Hightech- und Zukunftstechnologien von besonderer Relevanz\, betreffen darüber hinaus aber über die Wertschöpfungskette die gesamte deutsche Wirtschaft. \nDie kritische Verfügbarkeitdiverser Rohstoffe ist in verschiedenen Studien ausführlich untersucht worden und definiert diese je nach Kriterienkatalog. Es gibt weltweit Rohstoffstandorte\, an denen Vorkommen bekannt sind und/oder bereits abgebaut werden\, die für die deutsche Wirtschaft von besonderem Interesse sind. \nUntersuchungen der DERA/BGR zufolge gehört Chile zu einem der Rohstoffländer\, die bereits für die deutsche Wirtschaft relevante Rohstoffe abbauen und wo darüber hinaus weitere strategisch relevante Vorkommen angenommen werden.
