Conceived in 1994 by Sobratema \u2013 Brazilian Association of Technology for Construction and Mining, M&T EXPO was called \u201c I Mostra de Manuten\u00e7\u00e3o, Equipamentos & Tecnologia Aplicada\u201d (First Exhibition of Maintenance, Equipment & Applied Technology) and was held from September 16 to 20, 1995 at the Biennale Pavilion in Ibirapuera Park, in the city of S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n
Throughout its successive editions, M&T EXPO continued on a path of growth and, with its eighth edition held in 2012, established record-setting numbers with 1042 brands and some 3500 units of equipment, presented by 494 national and international exhibitors, and a qualified visiting public of 54,597professionals from Brazil and abroad.<\/p>\n
This expressive expansion over more than two decades denotes the consolidation of the trade show, which forged ahead through a variety of periods in the economy, as a thermometer for manufacturers, users and suppliers of equipment for construction and mining.<\/p>\n
M&T EXPO is the main showcase for new product introductions and technological innovations for construction and mining in Latin America and, in addition, has become a reference for the market. That\u2019s why there is so much expectation among all those involved – exhibitors and visitors alike – to learn what the trade show will present and then define the course to chart for their businesses\u201d, explains Afonso Mamede, president of Sobratema and one of the show\u2019s creators.<\/p>\n
