Photos: Weinbach<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<span class=\"tie-dropcap \">D<\/span>uring the expansion of the Ehestorfer Heuweg road in the village of Ehestorf, district of Rosengarten\/Germany, a daybreak occurred on 11th September 2019, which had a diameter of approximately 0.5 m and a depth of approximately 5 m. Research in the archives of the State Office for Mining, Energy and Geology (LBEG) in Clausthal-Zellerfeld revealed that the probable cause of the collapse can be traced back to the former Robertshall lignite mine, which mined lignite underground here and was in operation until 1922. In order to pool knowledge on the possible effects of mine flooding on the surface in advance, the working group \u201cHeave phenomena due to mine and groundwater rise\u201d was established on 14th September 2006 by a resolution of the board and the advisory board of the Deutscher Markscheider-Verein e.V..
