MMSA once again is spearheading an independent effort to help understand opportunities and threats related to methanol use in advanced applications that benefit the global environment. As was evident at last year\u2019s conference, technology involving methanol is well ahead of defined political initiatives, and costs for implementation of some technologies are high. On November 29 \u2013 December 1, 2016, MMSA will conduct its 3rd Methanol Technology and Policy Commercial Congress in Frankfurt (Germany). This conference will again bring together experts in methanol process technology, particularly in the areas of methanol\u2019s environmental and energy applications. Simultaneously, key EU policy makers have been invited to cite future policy initiatives in the energy arena in Europe. The overall goal of this conference is to continue critical discussion about opportunities and threats to the role of methanol in future energy application and policy. One important goal is to catalog the many approaches using methanol as a means to consume CO2 and\/or using renewable feedstocks, and understand their various strengths and weaknesses, taking another step in the direction of advancing methanol utility in society.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
