BfS

  • BfE

The current President of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS), Wolfram König, has been appointed President of the Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management (BfE), Berlin/Germany, which was founded two years ago. Up to now, the BfE has been under the temporary leadership of Ewold Seeba, who is now moving to the Bundesgesellschaft für Endlagerung (BGE), a federally owned company for the permanent storage of nuclear waste.

  • BGE

As part of reorganisation in the permanent storage sector, planning, construction, operating and decommissioning tasks for permanent storage sites formerly carried out by the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS), the German Company for the Construction and Operation of Waste Repositories (DBE) and Asse GmbH have now been handed over to the newly established Bundesgesellschaft für Endlagerung (BGE), Peine/Germany. The BGE is being managed by the former Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMU), Ursula Heinen-Esser; Ewold Seeba, former acting President of the Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management (BfE); and Albert Lennartz, former Managing Director of Asse GmbH.
