On 1st January 2017, Christiane Giesen became the new Managing Director of Aral Vertrieb GmbH, Bochum/Germany. She succeeds Ralf Schanzmann, who was responsible within BP Europa SE for the handover of the Ruhr Oel Joint Venture.

Michael Schmidt, Chairman of the Board of Management of BP Europa SE, Bochum/Germany, since May 2012, is leaving the company. He will be succeeded by Wolfgang Langhoff, most recently responsible for matters of portfolio strategy in the dissolution of the Ruhr Oel Joint Venture between BP and the Russian company Rosneft, on 1st January 2017.

The Board of Management at BP Europe SE, Bochum, underwent numerous changes at the end of 2015. Thierry Rondeau took over the role of Chief Financial Officer on 1st January 2016. His predecessor Wolfgang Langhoff is still on the Board of Management, winding up the Ruhr Oel Joint Venture between BP and Rosneft. Sabine Dietrich left the company on 30th November 2015. Her responsibilities in safety and risk management will be shared out among members of the Board of Management.
