Frank Bechtloff took up the newly created post of Deputy Managing Director at the Association of the Electrical Engineering and Electronics Industry (ZVEI) on 1 January 2015. He will continue in his role as Divisional Director for Industry.

An extraordinary general meeting of the gas transmission company Verbundnetz Gas AG (VNG) has elected Matthias Brückmann, Deputy Chairman of EWE AG, Ulf Heitmüller, head of commercial trading at EnBW AG, and Jochen Weise, Senior Advisor Allianz Capital Partners, to be new members of the VNG Supervisory Board. The new appointments were necessary following the retirement from the Supervisory Board on 25 November 2015 of Dr Rainer Seele, Chief Executive Officer of Wintershall GmbH, Wintershall Chairman Dr Ties Tiessen and Head of Legal Affairs, Tax and Insurance at Wintershall, Mathias Wolkewitz.

Katherina Reiche, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the Association of Municipal Companies (VKU) with effect from 1 September 2015.

Thilo Brodtmann has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) with effect from 1 February 2015, thereby replacing Dr Hannes Hesse who retired on 31 January 2015. Mr Brodtmann has been Assistant Managing Director at the VDMA since 2001.

Giorgia Arnaboldi has been appointed Chief Executive Officer at Shell Energy Deutschland GmbH (SEDG), succeeding Bettina Pohl-Lütcke who is to take up other duties at Shell. As well as being responsible for gas and electricity operations in Germany Mrs Arnaboldi will also manage Shell Energy Europe‘s gas wholesale business in Norway.

RWE Supply & Trading GmbH
Stefan Judisch, Chief Executive Officer of RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (a subsidiary of RWE AG), has left the Group at his own request. His successor, the former Head of Finance Dr Markus Krebber, will take up his new post on 1 March 2015. Peter Krembel and Andree Stracke have also been appointed to serve as new members of the management board, which has traditionally comprised three members, with effect from the same date. Mr Krembel has taken on responsibility for commercial business, while Mr Stracke will head international business origination, principal investment and gas supply activities, and the industrial customer business. Alan Robinson will remain a member of the board of directors and head of commercial asset management.

Paul Coffey, formerly the Chief Executive at RWE Innogy GmbH, will join the management board of RWE Npower, the UK-based eco-electricity subsidiary of RWE AG, on 1 April 2015.

Uwe Penth is RAG‘s new Regional Adviser in the Saarland, having taken over from Friedrich Breinig on 1 January 2015. He will continue to function as Director and Head of Corporate Planning and Business Management at the RAG head office in Herne. Mr Breinig, who became RAG Regional Adviser in the Saarland and Head of the Saar regional office of the RAG Management Board in 2009, retired on 31 December 2014.
Stefan Hager has been appointed Head of the Site and Geo Services Division (BG) with effect from 1 January 2015, replacing Prof. Dr Peter Fischer who has taken retirement.

Dr Christian Küchen, who prior to 28 Febru-ary 2015 was Board Spokesman at the Institute for Heating and Oil Technology (IWO), will take over from Dr Klaus Picard as the Managing Director of the German Petroleum Industry Association (MWV) with effect from 1 April 2015. Dr Küchen is to be succeeded at the IWO by Adrian Willig, who has been serving as a member of the management board.

Elmar Milles, Director of Legal/Welfare/Wages and Salaries at the German Coal Association (GVSt), resigned his post on 28 February 2015 and has entered semi- retirement. He will continue to serve as Director of the Bochumer Verband and of the Unfallschadenverband. He is succeeded at GVSt by Michael Weberink, formerly legal advisor at GVSt, who took up his new post on 1 March 2015.
