The Managing Director of the Association of German Municipal Enterprises VKU e.V., Katherina Reiche, will leave the association at the end of 2019. She is moving to a management role within E.ON SE.

The Board of Management of Verband kommunaler Unternehmen (VKU), Berlin/Germany, elected Guntram Pehlke as honorary VKU Vice-President for the Energy Sector on 12th March 2019. Pehlke, who occupies a full-time position as Chairman of the Board of Management of DSW21 Dortmunder Stadtwerke AG, succeeds Andreas Feicht. Feicht had held this role since 2012; he became Permanent State Secretary for Energy and Digital Affairs in the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) on 1st February 2019.

On 1st January 2018, Karsten Specht became the new Vice President of the German Association of Local Utilities (VKU) in Berlin/Germany. He takes over from Michael Beckereit, who retired at the end of 2017.

At its last meeting, the Board of Management of the Verband kommunaler Unternehmen (VKU) in Berlin elected Guntram Pehlke, Chairman of the Board of Management at DSW 21 Dortmunder Stadtwerke, and Achim Közle, Managing Director at Stadtwerke Tübingen, to its committee.

Katherina Reiche, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the Association of Municipal Companies (VKU) with effect from 1 September 2015.
