STEEL-LINE cable carriers from TSUBAKI KABELSCHLEPP GmbH, Wenden-Gerlingen/Germany, are designed for extreme applications. The company’s extensive experience of applications and design expertise guarantee success, particularly in extreme environments. The proven cable carriers are being constantly further developed and continue to move into new areas of application.
The TKSR is a highly compact model from TSUBAKI KABELSCHLEPP, designed for use in aerial lifts. Elsewhere, steel cable carriers continue to prove their worth in the traditional applications of heavy machinery manufacturing, steelworks, mining and deep drilling. Depending on the design, steel carriers can withstand temperature loads or application-dependent maximum values of up to 400 °C for short periods; stainless steel versions can even withstand temperatures of up to 1,000 °C for short periods (Figure 1). They are also resistant to chemicals and radiation and deliver impressive performance on handling robots and manipulators in chemical plants. Stainless steel cable carriers, available from TSBUAKI KABELSCHLEPP at three different quality levels, can be used in the environment of acid baths in electroplating plants, in power plant applications and other applications under radioactive radiation. TSUBAKI KABELSCHLEPP steel cable carriers also excel in offshore applications thanks to resistance to seawater and UV radiation.
The STEEL-LINE from TSUBAKI KABELSCHLEPP includes a number of steel cable carriers in various sizes and configurations, with a comprehensive range of accessories available to match. Decades of product and application know-how have produced a differentiated range of products tailored to the respective operating and environmental conditions, with corresponding design details. KABELSCHLEPP designs, e. g., the side bands with link plates in different geometries, including an open stroke system with a self-cleaning effect, in order to minimize wear caused by dirt and to achieve the longest possible service life. The lack of maintenance and lubrication also extends the service life, as all STEEL-LINE products do not require lubrication and are therefore maintenance-free.
The steel cable carriers can simply run for many decades – TSUBAKI KABELSCHLEPP knows of cases where a cable carrier has been in use for over 50 years. However, the benefits of a steel cable carrier do not stop at the end of its service life. Up to 100 % of steel cable carriers can be recycled at the end of their service life, conserving resources and protecting the environment. Using one ton of steel for recycling saves one ton of CO2 emissions and avoids mining 1.5 t of iron ore.
