Marie-Luise Wolff-Hertwig, Chairwoman of the Executive Board at Entega AG, is the new President of the Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Cologne (EWI). She is assisted by Barbara Schädler, Head of the Communications & Political Affairs division of E.ON SE and Sven Becker, spokesman for the Board of Management of Trianel GmbH.

Since 1st April 2017, Holger Becker, formerly at EnBW AG, has been the new Commercial Director of Großkraftwerk Mannheim AG (GKM). He succeeds Markus Binder, who has become Chairman of the Executive Board of Lausitz Energie Bergbau AG and moved to Lausitz Energie Kraftwerk AG (LEAG).

Former Chairman of the Executive Board of OMV AG, Gerhard Roiss, has been appointed the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of state-owned electricity company Verbund AG, Vienna/Austria. He succeeds Gilbert Frizberg.

Jörg Kubitza has been the Head of Strategy at Czech energy supplier CEZ in Germany since the beginning of January 2017. This role will primarily see him take care of strategic expansion and corporate development in the field of renewable energies.

As of 1st February 2017, Peter Heydecker, former Head of European Power at Swiss commodity trading company Vitol, succeeded Ulf Heitmöller as Head of Trading at Energie Baden-Württemberg AG (EnBW), Karlsruhe/Germany. On 1st January 2017, Marc Spieker became a Member of the Board of Management at E.ON SE, Essen/Germany. On 1st April 2017 he assumed the responsibilities of former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Michael Sen, who has left the company.

Effective January 2017, the new Secretary General for the Union of the Electricity Industry at Eurelectric, Brussels/Belgium, is Kristian Ruby, former Member of the Board of Management at WindEurope.

Wolfgang Ketter has been appointed the third director of the Institute of Energy Economics (EWI) at Cologne University in Germany.
