Wulf Bernotat, former Chairperson of the Board at E.ON SE, based in Essen/Germany, passed away on 27th August 2017 at the age of 68 after a long illness. He was Chairperson of the Board at E.ON from May 2003 to 2010 and succeeded Ulrich Hartman and Wilhelm Simson in that role. As Chairperson of the Board, Bernotat significantly shaped the development of E.ON: Following a consolidation phase after the merger of VEBA and VIAG to form E.ON, he especially drove forward the internationalisation of the company with the expansion to Great Britain, Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Italy.
