Simulation programme for bulldozers now features integrated automation functions from Trimble® Earthworks
CM Labs Simulations, the world’s leading provider of simulation-based training solutions for the construction industry, which has had a presence in Munich/Germany since early 2026, is introducing ‘Trimble Design File Import’: a new feature that enables construction companies to train and prepare their machine operators based on project-specific site designs. This enables the Intellia simulation curriculum for training bulldozer operators to utilise the functions of the Trimble® Earthworks machine control system. This also allows for the simulation and training of (partially) automated grading operations.
In today’s construction projects, contractors are often only confronted with the specific plans and site conditions shortly before work begins – and with strict requirements regarding schedule and budget. This leaves little time for practical training, which is, however, becoming increasingly essential. After all, inadequate preparation of construction machine operators can jeopardise safety and slow down construction progress. When it comes to grading work, these risks can now be reduced thanks to a new feature of the Intellia simulation curriculum from CM Labs.
As part of the Intellia Workforce Training System for bulldozers, the new ‘Trimble Design File Import’ interface enables construction machine operators to train and practise complex earthworks under realistic conditions. This reduces the risk of accidents on site whilst also speeding up construction progress, as the procedures have already been practised.
File import via the new interface also supports operational planning and offers contractors the opportunity to incorporate project-specific site models into the training and tailor the training to the respective project conditions

The new interface for bulldozer training builds on the existing integration of Trimble® Earthworks Autos into the Intellia simulation programme for crawler excavators. Both updates to the Trimble offering extend the capabilities of CM Labs’ simulation training system beyond basic operator training. Based on authentic machine behaviour and real-world machine control technology, these enhancements enable construction companies to integrate operator training, operational planning and project-specific exercises into a single training environment. Furthermore, operators can use CM Labs’ software on the simulators to practise automation-assisted grading procedures that closely mirror modern machine control processes.
