Since 1979 the “International Mine Water Association” has been organizing annual international meetings focused on various aspects of mine water, including its hydrology, chemistry, biology, environmental aspects, and potential reuse, as well as how best to control it through better prediction, mine water management and treatment.

The IMWA2019 Conference theme is “MINE WATER: Technological and Ecological Challenges”. The conference will address one of the most urgent issues of today. Mining wastes and mine water are causing deterioration of the environment.

This makes companies and researchers develop new technological approaches to mining waste and mine water management, mine water treatment and the restoration of the environment.
